Savant Host Controller (1U Rack Space)
As a key building block, the Host (within a Savant system) provides numerous functions
including high-level automation and control functions, User Interface interpretations, system
administration and monitoring. Also, the Host, within any Savant system may act as the main Media Server housing and controlling playback of any iTunes® content (music, movies, etc.) and supports up to eight mobile devices (iPad™ and / or iPod touch®).
In addition, the User Interface Software resides in the Savant Host. The User Interface Software communicates with Savant’s entire line of user interfaces including touch panels, remotes, keypads, mobile devices to On-Screen Displays. The User Interface Software provides advanced two-way control of components and services that are commonly deployed in automation and control environments. As a result, a Savant Host is an essential component, which must be part of any complete Savant Control Solution.
Note – A HST-3002 platform can be added to a Savant System configuration to provide
host redundancy (active-standby mode) and increase reliability (see HST-3002).
The HST-3001 contains a single Savant Host controller and is packaged in a 1U rack mountable
shelf (See RCK-3000).
